Hello group.

I could use some help.

I'm in the "put together" stage of my project, a 2003 ISB-305 CTD into my H1 Hummer. My stock dodge power steering pump (out of a 2003 2500) uses an 8-rib belt which goes around a 6" 8-rib pulley (on the PS pump). If this pulley was 5", it would fit a lot better (yes it would spin a bit faster, but I wont be doing a lot of driving in the higher rpm ranges).

I'd rather not raise the whole engine so the pulley clears the steering gearbox.

The part # on the pulley is 53032637ab. Tried to google it and couldn't find anything. I realize that the belt length will change, but I probably reposition the tensioner as I have both belts (ac and non-ac) and wont incorporate A/C into this conversion.

So anybody know who makes or where I can get a smaller pulley?

Thanks in Advance

John Andres

Take a stroll through a F*rd parts catalog... they use 8-rib belts and belt-driven PS-pumps on the PSD's... If you're lucky - the shafts might be the same diameter.

Or - see what medium/heavy duty offerings might be out there - that's a really good resource for parts to keep in mind. They use all kinds of goofy stuff that could be adapted to work well in other applications.

Did you ever find a pulley that would work? I am in the same sittuation now and would love any help anyone can offer.

Thanks.

I found that a 2001 Ford F250 pulley will fit fine and is slightly smaller. I moved the pump down around 3 inches and so far it is fitting fine. The new pulley is only 1. 2" smaller but it was enough to allow missing the crank trigger and the steering box when it was relocated.
