I have 01' 2500, with a 2" suspension lift. I am probably 4" or so higher than stock. Can I pull a 5er without serious mods to the 5er or truck or am I going have to stay with a travel trailer setup?

Depending on the 5th wheel you may have to put the springs of the trailer on top of the trailer axle. People do this all the time and I don't believe it costs any more then 3 or 4 hundred dollars

Yes, you are going to have problems. I dropped my truck 2" and the trailer axles were flipped when built. I have about 8" clearence. If you are 4" higher than stock, that would give you 2" clearence.

Did you lift the back also, or just the front with 2" springs ?

I have a stock height 4x4 with 265's, and once I flipped the axles on my 33' 5'er the truck and trailer sit perfectly level with 9" clearance between the bed and trailer.

I do a lot of off-road trips that take us through some rough terrain to get to our spot, so I like and use the 9" clearance. If you don't need that much you could raise the 5'er pin a notch or two.

i flipped the axles on my 30 ft fver. have frt spacers on the truck to lift it up level. raised the trailers frt pin as far as possible and have 8-9 inches clearence. great for off road adventures. ken
