Hey Squares--did you have traction bars? Control of the pinion/drive angle is the #1 reason I put mine on. They're also handy on wet pavement. And they help the 160-pump/370 injector chugalug (but not as much as upgrading the pump).



Sounds like a Sledpuller 66 might be in order.

You gotta be more careful who you lend your I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER to man.

So, on the traction bars (Track bar is a thing for the steer axle), check with Greg (lsfarm) for bars like I have. Call Bean (615 563-7800) for something more special.



The bars I have are super simple (drill four holes in frame) and sturdy, and easily adjusted. They are single pivot with reversed threads. They bolt onto the end of the spring shackle bolts and go through frame with backing plate at other end.



Bean just had some made for his truck--custom true ladders. Very sweet looking, weld-on bracket at axle provides high and low mounting points and then attaches to front similar to mine. When he gets an engine in his truck, we'll see how they pREform. (They did some up-front stuff too. )



Then you gots stuff like Mark is running. Take a couple of top-links and fab up the rest. Probably the best bang/buck ratio.



With single bars like mine and Mark's, simply twist the bar for pre-load adjustment. With a ladder like Bean's there'll be no twisting. FWIW. Beware that the "ladder bars" sold for street rides may only have a single pickup at the back--the assembly might be stiffer and look cool, but if there's only one connection-is the extra metal effective?



I think that bars like mine and Bean's will run you 600-800 USD.

Pulling was fun. I enjoyed it and really enjoyed it pulling two nights without anything breaking. (sorry Joe). You could definitley tell a rookie was pulling the ol goat out there. I will try and share more stories when I can. Work has been absolutely crazy this week! Wanted to post yesterday, but couldn't... besides, I knew Gap had my back saying I was tugging my ding a ling! HA!
