Competition Scheid Diesel Extravaganza!!!

Competition MT. Pleasent shootout??????? Lancaster ohio

Last night I was at a tractor pull in Warrensburg, MO and saw quite a sight. The last class of the night was Pro Stock Tractors which I was there to see. One of my friends pulls in this class(he won it by 18 feet) and put on one hell of a show. After the class was over, the announcer said there was going to be an exhibition pull by a dodge diesel truck. Sure enough a 2000(?) QC LB 4X4 6sp hooked up to the same sled the Pro Stock Tractors pulled. If I'm not mistaken the sled weighs 60,000 pounds for Pro Stock Tractors. Correct me if I'm wrong. I heard from some of the people in the crowd that the guy had a few mods on it (pulling clutch, box, exhaust, etc). The truck took off in what appearred to be 1st gear on the low side. By 50 foot the old clutch was a blowwin' smoke like the exhaust of the tractors of the last class. He grabbed 2nd as all of his buddies on the side of the track were trying to get him to stop. The violence of the shift made the fact that everything stayed together a miracle. The tires slipped and the clutch now smoked so bad that the cab of the truck disapearred. He finally shout down but too quickly. The truck stopped and the momentum of the sled slammed it into the back of the truck. I don't think anything was hurt besides maybe the clutch. About 20 minutes later I was helping my buddies load the tractor on the trailer when the Dodge rolled by. The smell of burnt clutch was sickening. Man did it stink!

If any body knows this fellow please give him a few pointers. I was impressed that he made it as far as he did.

BTW, I heard the Mid Missouri Smokers were to be in the Kansas City area sometime soon. I would love to attend. Please give me some info.
