i just joined the TDR i have a 1993 4x4 auto with dtt 91% TC and 3. 54 ratio i have 285/75 bfg mud terrains im gonna be pulling at our local fair in 6500lbs. class and was looking for some tips on tire pressure and weather to use high or low range
I pulled for the first time last weekend. It was a 30,000 lb sled and the track was very dry. I pulled in high range 1st gear only and came in 3rd place. Not bad for my 1st time, bald all terrain tires and over powered the track at half track, which made the truck hop, so I had to back out of it which lost me some distance.
Only 3 of us trucks made it over the 200' mark and all good pulls were dodges. Next time I will have mud tires on and a little easier on the go peddle.
A couple of weeks ago, we had a truck/tractor pull at the county fair. A stock first genner pulled about as far/same as a stock F-250 w/6. 0L. Around 250' or so.
