Competition Pulling for the first time, help!

285/75/16 BFG AT, 3. 54's, and I know I can tow 18k up a good pass on 4x4 but wil hit 1500 on 5x5 empty on a long drag race. Need advice on gear and comp selections, do I add weight? etc. etc. Also have a buddy with a 2wd 12V long bed that will be puling also, advice on him? Track will be groomed dirt, 6500plus class at sublimity harvest fest. Thanks guys!

Use low range and first gear. Use the highest setting on your comp(short track means temp's will be ok) then bend the floor board under your throttle. Use the most weight for the class and the highest hitch setting. You want to go as fast as you can as quick as you can. Make sure your front axle is locked, don't shift the t-case in 4x4 at the last second.
