Off Roading Water crossings?

Competition 2007 DHRA rules are out!

I just bought a rear roll pan for the back of my truck. I have read of some guys moving the Hitch forward, for an advantage. I know the rules state that the hitch has to be at the rear most point of the truck. My question is how far forward can you move it? What are they going to call the rear most part of the truck? Any input appreciated.

Thanks,

Rick

Hooking point must be at the rear most point of truck IE if you were backing up the rear most point would hit the brick wall first.

So you want the HOOKING POINT of the sled hook at the rear most part of the vehicle not under the vehicle/bed.

Basically the receiver hitch can be under the bed but the actually loop for the hook needs to be protruding out so the hooking point is rear most... .

What state are you in? Let me know if you have anymore questions about pulling a 24V I pull my CR04. 5 and a buddy of mine pulls his 01 24V which is one of top street 24Vs around. .

Here is the DHRA rule:

The hitch must be a "Reese"-style hitch; reinforcements are permitted. Trick hitches are prohibited. The hooking point must be the rear-most point on the vehicle and must be rearward of the stock location of the tailgate. The hitch must be horizontal to the ground and stationary in all directions. Bumpers may be notched or removed. The hitch's height from the ground may not exceed 26 inches. The hooking point must have a minimum 3. 00 inch inside diameter opening for the sled hook. The hooking point will be measured to the center of the clevis loop.

So you can notch or remove the tailgate, basically what there saying is the tailgate is the most rear part of the vehicle. But remember the hooking point is measured from the center of the clevis, so the center needs to extend past the tailgate. That’s the way I have always read into it :D

Well I am in Ohio, and I am working on getting everything I am going to need by the time pulling season comes around. Still looking for a way to make/buy some ladder bars, and waiting for my new turbo to come in Oo.

PM Diesel Darryl (nice bolt on set) or contact enterprise engine for traction bars.

If you want a good bolt on turbo for pulling I would advise a Aurora 5000 from ATS.
