Pulling injectors, do I..

Really need the special injector puller from Cummins to pull the injectors from my 4BT? The Cummins book says to tap on the side of the injectors with a brass drift after soaking them with PBlaster and theyll pull right out?

Good Luck ,it may work. Tap very lightly.



Have had to remove head and beat injectors out from the back side before, so even the Cummins puller doesn't allways work.



The Cummins puller is a slide hammer on a cable, its o. k. but not the best.



I have also made a solid link puller from an old injection line nut and welded into a slide hammer. Snap-On also sells a nice puller, its a little long for some Industrial hood clearances, but is adaptable to a shorter slide hammer. The snap-on slide hammer kit also comes with different adapters and hooks for a variety of pulling situations.

I think the wise way to go is get a puller and pray to the injector gods for a easy pull.

Soak them with wd-40, liquid wrench, etc for a while. Tap them, and use 2 screw drivers or pry bars oppisite each other and gently rock them back and forth as you pry them out. Slide hammer is good too if you have enough access to get a good straight pull.
