Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Pulling NV4500

Well my fifth gear went out again. This time I am pulling the transmission and replacing the main shaft. Is there any problems I should encounter when pulling the transmission. If anyone can give me any suggestions on pulling the transmission because I never done this before.



The one question I do have is can I pull the transmission without pulling the bell housing?

As far as I know, the procedure is the same on the 5 speed as the 6 (what the instructions are based on). You may be able to leave the bell housing behind, but while you are down there, you may as well check the condition of your clutch.
