Would like to add a small chrome strip around inside of fenders for some added protection and looks. I understand Cummins logo on front needs to come off.

1. What is the best way to remove it

2. Can it be reused when you do this or should I order another set. Will likely relocate to upper fender near windshield as some others have.

There is just no way I am going without it! :p

Cummins Logo Removal

Hi. I used a razor blade, VERY CAREFULLY! If you are really careful, it will work. I took the logo's to the shop where I bought the fenderwell trim and they applied new double-sided tape, for free. They used a number of rows of (approximately 1/2") tape. You ought to be able to do that yourself. Hope this helps. Joe Fihn(Buffalo).

I watched my neighbor removed his decals, due to purchase of a chrome "eyebrow kit". He used heavy fishing line, went real slow, and then used 3-M adhesive remover. Finished off by using a little gasoline to wipe the balance of the adhesive off. He re-used the same decals by getting some new 3-M double sided tape. He re-located the decals to the door panel, next to the "2500" decal. Looks great. I plan to do mine within the next week. The local body shop I talked to uses a heat gun, but I am not confident I have the skill level to not bubble the paint.

I would probally go with the fishing line idea, don't think my hand is steady enough to do the razor blade idea. I seen a 03 at the part's store the other day with a eyebrow kit on it and the guy just over lapped the piece of fender chrome over the Hemi emblem it looked like *****. :-laf

I use a plastic chisel (like for spreading spackling compund) to work one end of the emblem up, and then peel off. I did not have any problems with the paint.

My neighbor swears on using dental floss as a sort of saw to remove emblems... . both ways work.

The residue I would remove with ordinary turtle wax (or equivalent)

My Dealer told me the body shop uses a hair dryer, heats up the decal and it pops right off, then some cleaner to get the rest of the goo off

Disclosure: I have not tried it, just what they told me

Hot water from the car wash and then you can pry it off fairly easily, clean with Goo or McGuires. The fishing line works but is a little labor intensive.
