We are heading to Williamsburg VA for a visit Sunday after Fathers Day Brunch in Asheville NC.

About a 6 hour run.

Thanks For all the info around the Smoky Mountain Nat. Park info. We have vowed to return.

Where you staying in Williamsburg? We are at American Heritage Campground right now. Exit 231A on I-64.

We were there a couple years ago and took the Ghost Walk ( extra charge of course ).

i did not think that I'd like it but it turned out to be a lot of fun.

Get your pre Revolution history game on. Be sure to visit the cooper shop (where they make the wood barrels), the gunsmith and the wheelwright shop.

Nice that you guys got to see some of the Smokies. Not sure if you made it to the highest http://www.ncparks.gov/mount-mitchell-state-park "One of those places that stand apart from the ordinary, Mount Mitchell’s dramatic summit is the highest point east of the Mississippi at 6,684 feet and was inspiration for one of the nation’s first state parks" That was from the website. The biggest views we have AFAIK. Its at the western end'ish of NC. We got lucky and visited on a nice and clear day, pretty special.
