My 03 pulls to the right. I brought it in to the dealer about 9 months ago and they said they could not do anything about it. that the adjustment on it was to the max. The Service Writer said that you will have to wait until a new offset ball joint was made to fix the problem. Well. 9 months later... where is the ball joint? Anybody have any info on this?

I don't think this is a new problem. My 95 has pulled to the right since it was new. I've had it to the dealer and was told nothing is wrong. I got to just except it as is. It doesn't effect the tire wear or linkage wear but it is a little annoying. Doesn't pull hard but its there. I now have 150000K+ miles. I get about 65000 per set of tires and probably could get more but I don't like driving on thin tires

Add your name to the (long) list of people waiting for some kind of adjustable ball joint to fix a pull to the right.

In the meantime, make sure your brakes aren't dragging, wheel bearings are in good shape, tire wear is even.

My '97 pulled to the right so bad I almost rolled it on I-25 once during a panic stop (two cars tangled up ahead)

After 5 separate attempts to fix it (the dealer never could get it right) I gave up and bought a Ford!

As all stories should have a happy ending, the Ford is gone (transmission problems) and I bought a new Dodge again.

My 03 pulls to the right, and it's very annoying. I figured I would start playing with toe adjustments, but then I did some rough testing... I measured the wheelbase on both sides.

Spec is (I think) 160. 5" wheelbase on these trucks. Well, I measured each side, wheel center to wheel center and the right side is approx 1/4" longer than the left. That would mean the rear axle is NOT completely square, and could be the contributing to the pull.

Granted I did this with a tape measure (and with help holding it), but I did it twice to be sure and got the same number each time.

What I need to do when I find time, is find an alignment shop that uses the laser-based wheel sensors and see if that setup calculates that sort of thing. Then maybe it'll be possible to properly align the rear axle so it's square.

Any GOOD alignment shop can set the rear thrust angle. The trick is getting it set to ZERO, not close to zero. I usually try and set it right on the money. An old front end guy trick is to set the rear thrust in the opposite direction and offset the pull.
