Hi Guys, i have a question. I am going to put a new clutch in the truck probably this weekend. Question is can you leave the transfer case attached to the trans and pull the two as a unit?Seems like it would be the best way. Randy

It can stay alltogether.

Do yourself a favor and get a porta power to spread the frame rails as they will fold in a couple inches and make it a pain to get in and out. If you cant get your hands on one, a bottle jack and a 4x4 cut to fit will work just fine.

Just drill a hole about deep enough to seat the jack into the 4x4 so it doesnt fold up on ya. Other than that its just taking out bolts and putting them back in.

Good Luck

You can do it either way depending mostly on the strength of your transmission jack. I usually seperate them in order to make it easier to handle. It takes just a few extra minutes to unbolt and drop the transfer case. With them assembled it does make for a long and heavy assembly. Jeremy.
