I haven't ever pulled my truck but was thinking about getting into a couple local pulls this summer. I am ready to purchase some tires for the dodge and was wondering what people thought about the BFG All-terrains? I would be running the 33x12. 5x16. 5's. Are fat tires any good for pulling or what? I know on our farm tractors your going to get better traction with a narrow tire because of the higher amount of weight your putting on each square inch vs. a flotation type tire. Any advise appreciated. Thanks

Matt

Bigger tires will take more power and give more traction, not necessarily what you want. I'm sure Sledpuller will have something to say about this, He runs his big tires, gets alot of traction, and gets alot of carnage. When he runs his small tires he just overpowers the track. The key is to experiment and find the tire that fits somewhere in the middle. All-terrains are probably your best bet for a lightly bombed truck. Dean

The BFG all terrain is one of the best all around tires I have seen/used, going.

At least on our tracks, I don't know about the Cali boys big sand boxes.

You have to pick tire size for your clutch/ power/ gear you want to run.

just a note to add to Bob's... Tulare is a very hard sandy track that they work the surface and add a little water to control dust... not what you would call the ideal pull track ... . much better dirt prep back there !!!!
