Broke Down Far From Home - Fuel Problem?

After some more research I've found that the 24k Superglide hitch is not adjustable for height. It is set at 15 1/2". Pullrite says that any height adjustment has to be made in the pinbox. We haven't purchased a 5th wheel yet. Is this going to be a problem if we want to have 8-9" clearance to the bedrails? Do all the manufacturers pinboxes adjustable, and if so, in what increments?

I also found that there is no lockout for side to side movement for the head on this hitch. I thought this feature was standard and needed if one got into uneven terrain and didn't want to bend the bedrails. Is this a necessary feature?

I understand that the pins which fasten this hitch to the underbed mount have some slop in them. Pullrite said that the hitch will move a little back and forth if the trailer brakes are not set up correctly. But what about using an exhaust brake - the trailer brakes are not even operating like this? Does the trailer bang back and forth braking and accelerating?

Anyone had a problem with an extended pinbox running into the side of the bed - if so, what length was your pinbox and what type of trailer?

I have a 16k superglide with super rails and haven't had any problems. However, the trailer does sit low on the truck box. Pullrite also has extended height pins for the super rail syem that brings the hitch higher. it's originaly designed for trucks with bedliners. This could potentialy be a fix for any clearance issues.

Thanks for your reply. The extended pins are only 1/2" longer. What is your clearance between trailer and bedrails? Have you tried to adjust your pinbox height on the trailer to level it?
