Did a little research on the Stempf adjustable ball joint. It is only for camber adjustment. You might be able to get a . 1 degree caster change, but that would not usually give you enough split to make a difference. I checked on the diameter of the Dana ball joint, and it is about . 003 larger diameter than the AA ball joint. Might be fun to see it it will fit in the AA knuckle. It is truly an adjustable joint.

Also, I would say mine pulls slightly right, but what I do notice is if I hold the wheel at 10 o'clock with my left hand, it goes straight, but if I hold it at 2 o'clock with my right, it drifts slightly right. Seems like it is just sensitive enough to respond to the weight of your arm. Doesn't bother me, as I hardly ever drive with my hands off the wheel. If I need both hands, I use the old knee, and it never pulls with that!

As long as the Stempf adjustable ball joint makes the truck go straight with no unusual tire wear it's good enough for me.

Mine pulls ever so slightly right in the right hand lane and ever so slightly left in the left hand lane. :D

I guess I'm all set. Best driving truck I ever drove!

MINE GOES RIGHT. Take you hand off steering wheel in either lane you will go right in a few car/truck lengths. Some roads much worse.

There once was a JB Hunt driver that got off at his exit and just kept going right till he laid his semi over. When the cop got there the driver was looking at his rig scratching his head when the cop asked, what happened here son? The driver replied, My turn signal stuck:confused:

Mine goes right dosent matter if right -center or left lane. Its much slower to go right from left lane and center but it always ends up going right. from most right lanes its in the space of 4 to 6 truck links and your off the right. Some road areas even quicker.

My '97 3500 Laramie SLT 3500, Auto 4. 10, 89K miles, pulls slightly to the right, and there is a slight occasional squeak (almost a chirp) that stops when the brake is applied. I've taken it in to Dodge and had the brakes serviced and the front-end alignment checked 3 times at different places and it is OK. Any ideas on the cause and the solution?

Joseph,

Welcome to TDR!

I see this is your first post and you have certainly come to the right place for straight answers.

I'd like to respectfully suggest that you re-post your questions and comments in the second generation forum. This forum is for guys and gals with '03 trucks and newer. Dodge changed the front end in '03 and you are not as likely to get good answers here as you will in the second generation forum. If after doing a search in the second generation forum you don't find what you are looking for you might want to start a new thread.

We are happy to have you and am sure you will gain much knowledge about your Dodge.

Hank

I have an 01 1500 SLT and it does it too. begins wearing the outside edge noticeably after only 2,000 miles. aligment is good though (within specs). I have to keep slight left turn pressure to go straight.

Mine follows the crown of the road, but it definitely doesn't pull right. My 2nd gen pulled right pretty bad, so I know what it's like.

mine follows the crown also, but wind also seems to like to blow the truck if it is strong enough. makes for a weird sensation if the wind is blowing right hard, and the crown is strong...

Mine has always pulled right and pulls more now with 14500 miles on truck.

I just put 2" leveling kit on truck and had alignment and they said everything was in spec.

End result... STILL PULLS RIGHT
