Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Pulse problems

Just installed my adrenaline w/pulse monitor on saturday and put it on pl10 and went for cruise... . let me back up I fought the pulse unit for 5 min. to get the pl up button to work the went for a drive. Wow the arenaline out performed my smarty edge combo hands down. On the way back home I stoped at a stop sign and tried to tune it down and fought the pulse pl down button also. Has anyone else had these problems with thier pulse. I e-mailed quad and a guy named jeremy said to pull it apart and clean the contacts or send it back and they'll clean the contacts. My . 02 is for nearly 300 bucks they could have come up with a much better unit than the pulse. Maybe even a module that would let it run through a touch screen head unit like my kenwood I would gladly pay $300 for that. :-laf

It seems there was a problem on some units with the buttons not working very well. I had the same problem, but cleaning the contacts with alcohol cured the problem for me. It is somewhat disappointing to have this happen, but I am still very happy overall with the functionality of the unit.

Same problem here. I guess I will pull it apart when I have some time. However, I am struggling with some settings on the Pulse/Adrenaline.

I have a similar problem since I first installed th lowest button(enter) hardly ever works and the next button up which is the down button works only sometimes. Was going to get a RA# from Quad after my next tow at the end of the month. If pulling it apart and cleaning the contacts work will do this first and see if it helps then call Quad if it does not help. Denature alcohol or spray contact cleaner the best to use?

Custom Tunes will not work I know unless you are in park

I had same problem and pulled apart and used Non-lubricating contact cleaner. It fixed problem and later returned it because of other problem that turned out to be my fault but they looked at buttons for operation anyways. Dummy me left wires disconnected from battery Negative. Believe me when u do this u get all kinds of codes and no boost and truck will not get out of the way of itself!!!
