Pump Assly Destroyed during DTT TC install

I destroyed my pump assembly while installing my DTT TC . Ran fine for 2 days then would hardly move at all. Needed 2300 rpm before it would move at all... Thought it was low on fluid . Wife got out of bed at 4am (I work Graveyard shift) to bring more fluid. .



Got it home (15 miles) called Bill K. (which I should have done first). . What SUPER folks at DTT!!!



He sent me a second TC on the spot, also an upgrade kit. . only billed me for the upgrade kit. Bill K. talked me thru step by step over the phone the complete teardown, rebuild, and reinstall of all the new parts (TC/VB upgrade kit). .



The Pump Assly a local parts supplier gave me was the wrong one and did not have any others in stock. All the trans shops in this area kept reffering me back to the same supplier. .



Called Bill K. about this. He sent me one from his shop at NO CHARGE. I paid overnite shipping , was on my door step 11am next day.



What SUPER SERVICE... Where can you find this type of personal caring quality service?



My HAT's off to Bill K. and all his staff. Thanks to them the RAM is Butting Heads again. WOW, how it Runs.

GGreen, hate to ask you to relive a bad experience, but... ... . would you mind posting some details on how your pump assembly was damaged during your install. Might help the next guy who wants to DYI Thanks.

Excellent! Another vendor that truly knows the meaning of customer service (like we didn't already know ).



I know one thing, it sure is nice to have a company treat you like you and your situation are unique... and if/when you do run into trouble you are taken care of as quickly and as expediently as possible so you can get your ride back on the road.

I did not have the pump gears alignup (pardon this country boys spelling) properly. The damage was all my own doing. Beaing a Shadetree fixitall. I felt I could do this job alone. However it was a bit over my head. The big Mistake was bolting the TC to the Flex plate first then mounting the trans. I learned the hard way thats not how its done...



If you plan on doing your own give Bill K a call FIRST. Thay will bend over backwards to help. A few phone calls would have made a 2 week project into a 2 day one. Most of that time was on waiting on parts for the 2nd rebuild.
