As a new guy to the Ram, how much does the pump/injectors come ito play with high pyro readings? This was just treated to the Banks powerpack w/14 wastegated setup along with the ext, intercooler. < orig. had factory cooler > and the K&N. Just took it out for a test drive. @ idle I'm at 200 degrees. At 65 level road its running 625 deg. Bringing each shift up to max rpm in 4th its up to 900, shift into 5th and goes right down to 625 deg. I was told <tested> that the puter had a bad fault on the ATS air temp. Puter was ordered today. Also went with a recon turbo just to have a new one as I have spent a lot of $$ so far :<) The cap is still on the pump unit. I have no idea if it was ever adjusted. < bought used > The pyro is pre turbo. Any ideas guys ? Thanks, Mike

My truck hits a little over 600* cruising down the road @ 65 and will get as high as 900* when I am going up a hill with a small trailer. My pump isn't turned up as far as I know. By turning the pump up, you introduce more fuel so an increase in EGT should be expected. I would think the same thing would happen with the larger injectors, more fuel= higher EGT. I believe you have some room to work above the 900* but I am not sure how high you should go, for some reason, 1200 rings a bell.

hey guys,

'Ol Blue has had the Banks treatment and the pluner adjustment and fuel screws turned. She cruises @700 at 75mph and if I pass some quickly she'll get up to about 900. Loaded with a gooseneck and tractors she'll pull 1000 easy and on a long grade at 25psi she'll hit 1150 after about 2 miles in fifth gear. If you run her on the floor (blowing wastegate open) she'll get hot sooner. Usually I let her hit 25 psi and then back till she's down to 24-25 and run up hill like that if I'm just tryin to get over it quickly. Never have had her to try to get too hot, but I guess that's all in the right foot. She idles just under 300. After a long sprint I'll let her idle @2 minutes and then she's down just below 300. Then shutdown.
