Right now i am going through a divorce so there are no bombing funds LOL. Right now the truck is stock see signature. I was wondering if i could do some mild pump mods that would not risk the longevity of the injector pump. (very much) I know i need to get boost and pyro gages. But is there anything i can do without getting the gages and risking pump failure???? if so where would i find the procedure for doing this??? truck currently has 102,000 miles on it

Hey Cowboy, go to the archives and do a search under my name and look for the title of "Diaphram and Star Wheel". My truck is an automatic and this really woke it up. Mine was at the worst setting possible (untappered side towards pin). I did no other pump mods and this really improved the low end response. Being a 93 yours should have the 18. 5cm housing, and by just turning the diaphram to the proper place you should feel a difference. Also look for a topic called "Hot First Gen. " there is some good info here also. Good luck!!!!

First off, welcom Cummins Cowboy. Great group of people here with a lot of knowledge. I agree, just a couple turns of a screw here, adjust the smoke screw and your truck is going to take right off. I also have an Auto and my 0 - 60 mph times went from 17 seconds down to 12 seconds flat now. I haven't seen any problems with the fuel pump being turned up yet. Saving for those larger injectors so I can turn fuel pump back a little. I would suggest a gauge though. Helps in figuring out problems with truck also.

Yes, cowboy. For next to nothing, you can get that sucker running well. Tweak the pump, mildly, but follow the diaphram and full power screw directions referred to in the first reply.

Don't dare tow without a pyro gauge. Empty, you can hardly keep your foot into it long enough to heat it up, but towing you could melt it down.

Next, for low $$$, saw off the muffler, replace it with a straight pipe. Cost to me was about $25 for the pipe and some of my time. It is louder, but it surprised me how quiet it was, and is very tolerable. This increases boost, reduces EGT, and reduces turbo-lag.

K&N filter will cost ya $60, so maybe not an option. New turbo housing will cost more, stabco has them for $140. New injectors are $300-$400 depending on what you get and where you get them, so maybe not an option.

best to ya,
jon.
