Pump paint

Are all of our little VE pumps painted black from the factory?The pump on the truck I just bought is bare,no paint. I'm guessing it's a rebuild.

I think most of the truck engines would be black. For other uses, example in a John Deere tractor it would be green or for a bulldozer yellow, etc. What was rebuilt, your injection pump or the whole engine, How many miles are on it? Was the swap you did pretty easy? What engine was in teh old GMC before, a gasser or the old 6. 2L? Just curious!

The GMC had a 6. 2,the swap is fairly straight forward,just time consuming.

Cummins calls the color of their paint Bluke, the part number for their can of spray paint is 3822975.

Hey 6BT, My engine (with a 01/04/89 build date) is black over Cummins tan. Anything un-painted is probably a rebuilt.

Pump color

My pump was replaced under the recall that they had years ago, it's unpainted.
