Hey all, here I am after long hours laying floors, working on the house, and goofing off the rest of the time. Oo. :D

ANyway, as some of you know, my pump has been on a downhill slide for some time now- poor MPGs (relatively), blue smoke when cold, sluggish acceleration (again, relative to what it had been 50k earlier), and morning starts. Well, I went in and talked to Bill, and later Jim at Northeast DIesel Service in Jackson MO. Little hole-in-the-wall place right on Hwy 61 in Jackson. I decided to take the pump off and let them check it out. I requested that in light of them normally turning up the flow 15% or so, that they leave my full power screw where it is, along with the AFC cone. Jim said sure thing. Got it back 3 days later (had to order some parts, I forget what exactly at this time), and she's a screamer. Sorry Greenleaf, you may have lost a pump job- I now have 3600 no-load RPMs and can peg my boost gauge in 4th gear before 2500 RPM. Oo. Pulls hard to about 3100. He had given me about 2800RPM before it fell on its face, and went back and talked to him about it. TOld him sometimes, being able to go 70 in 4th was handy. He said turn it up, you seem to know what you're doing. Preliminary results I have noticed are quiter running, smoother, faster acceleration, and less smoke in the morning. Havent put enough miles on it to check MPGs- hoping for around 20-21. I'm actually impressed, and would have paid more than the $440 he charged for the rebuild. I think it comes with a 1 year/ unlimited mile warranty. There are tamper-evident marks on everything, but I did turn up the high idle screw a little. He said my pump was flowing about 120mm/ stroke. About 50% over stock.

Sorry for the bad grammar and structure, but I'm at the shop (Advanced Automotive in Cape Girardeau- g/f's boss), and they are getting ready to go home. BTW- they are pretty good- fixed my brakes. Got a good neighbor discount on labor, too. :D Going to work on the house now. Check out OTHER forum this wknd for update on that... ...

$440 for a throttle rod :-laf ?? C'mon the truth, all they did was get rid of your bailing wire you were using for your throttle rod and set you up with an updated rod?? LOL :p. Hence the pulls hard to 3100, hard to do that when your bailing wire only pulls WOT at 2100 LOL :-laf ;) :p oh I'm just fooling with ya DP! Good to hear your back to zoom zoom. Time to hit the dyno over at the place in St. Louis. .
