Pump shop recomendation?

Due to metal filings in the solenoid, indeterminate total mileage, and occasional odd behavior, I'm resigning myself to fact I need pump looked at. Has anybody used a pump shop in the Chicagoland area? Or else Southern Wisconsin, Southern Michigan, or Northern Indiana?



Anybody used Huckstorf in WI, or Scheid in Lafayette? Neither are particularly close, but if they are after Dodge owners for business and I can get good work for a fair deal, I'll drive an hour or more.



That brings up the pull it myself/ have them do it question. I assume that it is best to have a pro set the adjustments with the truck all together? So it wouldn't make economic sense to make two trips to a distant shop, one with pump, one with truck. Sorry to think out loud here. Appreciate any advice...

If you are handy with tools it is know big deal to pull the pump your self and send it in for repair. Or have some one pull it for you . Just go by the book. When my pump gives up I will pull it and send it to Piers in BC. He is vary good and reasnable in his pricing. The price of fright will not be that much difrence to have it built by one of the best. When the new pump comes back you can set the timing to his specks and it will make a wourld of diference. If you need to speek to him call1-604-853-9396.
