I notice a lot of members advance there pumps using the scribe marks on the pump and timing cover and moving it 1/8 inch. On my truck there is no scribe mark on the pump, but there is a scribe line on the cover. My pump was changed under a recall by chrysler years ago. Could it be that the replacement pumps didn,t have a scribe on them?

Scribe Index Marks

I think you may have something there. While BoMBing my rig I assumed everything was original. Well,,,,,I come to find out while I was making pump mods that my VE had indeed been replaced or updated to the 205 version. My pump has no paint on any part of it, yet the fuel lines to and fro and mounting hardware do [same as engine]. I have NO scribe line on pump. There is one on the engine cover.

My injection pump was replaced not to long before I bought my truck. It has the scribe mark on it. It had a little metal tag wired onto one of the injection lines saying it was a Dodge rebuild.

Pyro is on the list!!!

THanks Guys,

I'm sitting in Red Deer, about 500 miles from home and unfortuneatly I can rally use the trip to gauge my fuel comsumption. Fact is I only got about 350 miles on this trip BUT I was bucking a 50mph wind the whole damn way.

Pastor Bob!! Thank you - will get a pyrp asap...

Washers - Does anyone know what the optumun washers thickness is for this application? (I can get the specifics on the injectors when I return home.

My gut feel is that I'm still using way too much fuel but until I get back on the highway in calmer conditions, I won't really know. WIll update here soonest...

I've also ordered the service manual cd so I'll grok things better in the near future.

Still trucking... H

Where did you find the service manual on CD? Is it the same as the factory manual?

Thanks,

Jay

hwebster,

I purchased the manual for my 92 from Toronto for $82 Can in February 2000 (1-800-387-1143). It was a bit of a pain getting through on the phone.
