No way. Just the opposite. If your timing slips, it may idle just fine. But once you start to run up the revs, it will blubber and sputter and blow all kinds of white smoke. If it slips much at all , it is virtually undrivable off idle.
I suppose, no-strokin, what I should have said (and to which illflem alluded to), it will behave as I described whether it slips or you set it retarded by accident when you aren't payin' attention to the dial!
