Started getting a pump whine sound in the cab that varies with engine speed. Louder cold. Sounds like a pump whine like a classic ford power steering pump. Don't know if it's coming from the steering pump or hydraboost. Definitely hope it's not coming from the transmission pump. Sound doesn't change with steering or the brakes.
Common issue? Heard some word on the street that some of the power steering hoses can fail inside cause it and goes away when replaced. Getting close to my 36k warranty but don't want the dealer touching the trans unless it's definitely the source. Figure it has come up before. Gathering data before I go to the dealer.

OK, you said varies with engine speed, didn't take into account that meant idle speed as well.
Definitely not common either way, good luck and let us know what they come up with.
