I finally gave up trying to find a pump wrench and NOT pay $50 for it. This worked great! But I have another problem now. When I tried to remove the fuel line at the top front of pump, The line is seized to the nut. so I just retightened it and will hope for the best. Any ideas on how to get the line to "release" from the nut without kinking the line?

:{ Rebel i feel your pain man, started replacing the steering gear box on mine, the nuts out on the gear box were seized to the line, the return line popped right at the nut so i broke it on off, found a universal through a parts store that will work. As for the High pressure line, going to pick the new one up in the morning, i called 6 different places and finally found one that was ordered and will be at the store in the morning...

My answer is a new line, i know thats not what you wanted to hear but thats what i found with the seized items. . Good luck

Yes Bill. I've seen that price. But the Snapon Dealers here in the central valley want to deliver it with a velvet pillow and a much higher price. Anyway the pic I posted was for those who want or need it NOW! Or an economical alternative that works. Just throwing out ideas. But thanks, you've helped me in the past with your info.

No problem. I don't have access to heat and a torch to bend my own, some are the same way. Snap-on.com ships too. But then thats another $10 for shipping. I chased down a couple Snap-on trucks and had to have the guy order it. But the price was dead on.

I guess plenty of pb blaster on the line and nut. Use a screwdriver or something to hold the line in place, and then hold the fitting in the pump with the correct wrench, then loosen the line nut. Easier said than done eh:D. IIRC I think Cummins wants ~$30 for that line if you mess it up.

I have had wonderful luck removing the fuel feed line with two wrenches. 17mm on the adapter and a 14mm on the line nut.

I have had to use a 14mm crow foot to gain the nesessary access.

I have both the Snap On SP144 wrench and el-cheapo Harbor Freight S-wrenches. Neither work very well for the top back nut unless the fuel supply line is removed.

If the line is going to kink, it might be damaged inside. I used a line wrench and hammer while also using a backing wrench on the fitting inside the pump. It finally gave way. I replaced the line to get rid of the damaged threads.

My fuel line was siezed to the flare nut. I ended up cutting the line off and removing it on the bench. New fuel line wasn't very pricey. I don't remember if I got it from cummins or caseIH.
