This thread is begun with the idea of making available a meaningful resource for prospective truck purchases.

Price is not the only factor in choosing a dealer,... but it is definitely a significant one.

Reports which say "I got my truck for $X!" are not really helpful in comparisons, unless readers also know exactly what was purchased.

I am suggesting that buyers post in this thread an itemized list of their purchase (model/options/accessories/etc. ) showing, when possible, both manufacturer's suggested retail price, and price actually paid for each item.

Info re. dealership(location)/salesman involved, and attitudes/treatment before and after sale will also be helpful.

I realize that each post will be necessarily somewhat lengthy, and will require a bit of effort.

But if a sufficient number of members contribute, we will build a data base which will make possible an accurate understanding of what really constitutes a good deal, an average one, or a not so good one.

This sort of info-sharing is the great promise of the inter-net, bringing the average person out of "the dark", and putting him among those in-the-know.

My own new rig has arrived in Spokane, and I will be picking it up soon, probably next week(5/24/'07). I am dealing with Adam Macomber at Dishman Motors.

If there seems to be support for this thread, I will post my own info when my transaction is completed.

Best wishes, and thanks to all the many members of TDR who have already contributed so helpfully. I have learned a great deal in my short time here. :)

Comments welcome.

Truck was custom ordered from Bill Luke Dodge in Phoenix. Took delivery in June 06. Basics are in my sig. 6 disc stereo, Laramie pkg, heated mirrors, tow pkg. I DID NOT get moonroof, or DVD, or NAV system. Sticker was $47,200. Got it for $37,700 and then added in a dealer installed Jake Brake (WONDERFUL ITEM!) at $1500. I LOVE my truck!

Down in Metairie, LA they had a quad cab, 4x4 2500 big horn package auto for $42,790 I think is what the price was. I even test drove it. *Sigh* :{:{:{

The best way to compare prices is simply to state $xxx over or under factory invoice. Then it doesn't really matter what the options are.

well mine stickered at 44850. 4wd longhorn edition . anti spin. fog lights. slider premiumn wheels . power seat protection group tow hooks 6. 7 liter 6spd auto i paid 36. 750 for it

Factory Invoice? or Window Sticker MSRP?

Price paid before applying Rebates, Trades, Tax, Tag, Add-On's

Thanks, Tom

MSRP: 51,775

FWP: 46,208

Discounts: 5,000

Dealer installed options: 5,230

Price Paid: 46,473

Truck purchased: D18P42, 2FH, ETJ, DG7, PB7, APA, *VL, -D5, NHK, NAA, GPG, DSA, DMF, CLE, YEP, CGS, XJL, AHC, TP9, ADB, YG4, RS8, NEN.

Options to have installed: Courtesy delivery fee (AK dealer addon ), Tow mirrors (pn 82209293), Engine/Cab heater, Front Diamond Plate Flap, Rear dually diamond plate flaps, Rear fender well inserts, Spray liner over the rail, Front and rear door sill plates, diamond plate bedrail protectors (sides, front and rear), Diamond plate running boards and dually extentions, side window air deflectors, IPOD interface module, seat covers, high idle enabled.

As you can see my discounts basically paid for my options and Adam cut me a sweet deal on this truck. The options and price of them are what the Alaska dealer charges but Adam worked with him to get these under a TDR discount.

If you are going to get a truck you need to contact Adam Macomber. He is the best in the business and you will not be disappointed. :-laf

With some research on the Internet one can get the MSRP and FWP (which I am sure is what they refer to as 'Invoice') pricing on a truck with the options you are looking for. From there it's what incentives and discounts you can get to get the price down. Adam will send you a very complete listing of all the factory available options. Adam will also help you with these discounts if needed... farm bureau, TDR discount, factory incentives etc... Dishman also offers a discount to TDR members on the aftermarket accessories/options you want and Josh is the one that makes those happen. The MSRP on my truck was $51,605... the total cost before I added some accessories came to just over $41,000... pretty fair discount in my opinion.

DEickhoff,

During phone comm. last week(Fri. ?) after specific question from me, Josh did a look/see to be sure, and supposedly determined that rear fender-well liners are NOT available for the dually. I had ordered them just as you have.

You may wish to check with him about this. If you get a different answer, please advise ;)

Wolfy,

I have an email to Adam concerning this question and I will post his answer as soon as I get it. Thanks for the heads up.

Just received an email from Adam.

"I just found out Friday that you do not need the inserts on duallies as they have a shroud from the factory that covers most of the area. "

So it appears if you get a dually they already come with a shroud and you do not need rear wheel well inserts.
