Greetings everyone:

I'm new to CTD ownership (1st diesel) and I have a question about water in the fuel filter. I know how to perform the bleed

but I do not know how to distinguish between water

and diesel when I purge. So the question is: what should

I look for? When I attempted the purge, I collected what appeared to be water but it was slightly greenish in color

and smelled of diesel.

Also, is it possible to smoke at launch with a stock auto

or do I have to upgrade to a fueling box and injectors?

Some rice burners in my area would benefit if I could

do this :)

P. S. I've never been in anything this heavy that accelerates

this way :D ! I love it and I wish it was louder :D

Welcome,,,,

I never tried a burn out stock but now it is easy. The water deal, well when the truck was new I had water for about 3 tank fulls and then I was told Texaco has a lot of water in it so I switched to Chevron and additive, no water since.

when you purge the filter, do it in a clear glass container. The water will immediately go to the bottom and will be a dark grey/black ball of liquid. The diesel will be a nice light green if it is fresh fuel. If not, it will have more of a brown tint.

stock......

hang around this bunch of renegades long and your truck doesn't stand a chance of staying stock. more noise... ... hmmmmm, how about the snorkel between the airbox and the fender? still in? fix that!! silencer ring? remove it! take the air hose off the airbox and the turbo-=-look in the throat of the turbo and remove the ~3" inside snapring--take the silencer ring out. straight pipe is nice and loud, if you can get your resonator to run away with the muffler. wasn't for me, so a 4" exhaust with a big straight thru muffler sure sounds nice and the turbo noise out the tailpipe is nice. then, gauges, ... a "box", piers turbo, stage II's... ... ... new transmission,... ... upgrade the new transmission..... better get a bunch of hose clamps in different sizes , wire ties, electrical wiring, and, and, and,... ... ... . ah well, you get the drift. BOMBS AWAY. HAVE FUN:D

Welcome

I think the best thing you can do is try buying fuel at a place that has a big turn over like truck stops etc, I have never had any water in my fuel yet,( knock on wood ) 27 k on truck. I do add power service each tank for a little extra lube. As for smoking, Hmmm where oh where to start. hehe Good luck. :D :D
