Putco Running Boards

Hi:

Has anyone installed the Putco SS running boards on a 2500 Ram? Wondering how much modifications need to be done etc. Are they a good brand and hold up well?

TS, check the topic titled "JJ Stainless Steel Running Boards", there are some who mentioned they are happy with the Putco's.

I hate to talk badly about anyone but you asked. I have the alum diamond plate Putco's on my truck, both box boards have cracked, the driver side cracked 1 month after purchase, I contacted the co. , sent pictures, got the run around, (the person you need to talk to is on vacation, yadda-yadda yadda) NO call backs! Finally said to heck with it. (cleaned up language) I had DEE ZEE boards on my 93 Chevy, much better quality!! Heavier guage alum. I should have spent the extra $100 and went with a product I had experiance with. In the future I will compare the construction of verious boards and go with the best quality, with cost a secondary or non consideration. Good luck and Happy Rammin, Dave Hauser

In the past I too also went top dollar. But regardless of how much I spent, Aluminum oxidizes and scratches easily and looks like crap after a few years. This time I went cheap, How cheap ? JC Whitney cheap !
Full length running boards and dually box boards for just over $200. Nice quality, but I had to basically fabricate my own mounting system with the supplied hardware. But for the price, I can replace them many times overfor the price of the Mopar's or DeeZee.

I think you're making a good choice with the putco's. I am looking at either the Boss or the Master Boss series. You can order them online and maybe save a few bucks over local stores. good luck, here's their site.
