Is there any way to put DEF in the tank without it going all over the place? First time I've had to add used a funnel and made a mess.

If you buy the 2.5 gal jugs they come with a flexible spout that fits in the hole.
Easy job that takes 2 minutes.
I just bought 2 at Autozone for $25.

I use the pump at the Flying J and you kind of trickle it in in small spurts. You have to allow the air to escape and it backs up easily as it gets close to full.

Peak Blue DEF from Wally World. At 1/2 on the gauge or a little lower it will take the 2.5 gal box. SNOKING

I use the 2-1/2 gallon boxes with the fill tube. It leaks a few drops at the jug, but nothing major unless you put some stress on the tube and it pops off. Don't ask how I know.

I was curious about capacity so this time I ran the truck until it told me I had 150 miles until speed would be limited. I put in a box and the gauge went to about 3/4 full.

FYI--- the nozzle from the 2.5gal DEF jugs fits perfectly on the Power Service diesel additives... works great to get around those dual flapper thingers on the fuel tank

I also get my DEF at truck stops, bulk is cheaper by about 25-30%, and fresher by far

Anyone use the WallyWorld House brand DEF? Last I checked it was around $7 a 2,5 gal jug. I was using Mopar DEF then switched over to Peek Blue DEF. The stock seems to move fast at our local wally so I know it's always fresh.

I have used the WW DEF once with no ill effects. I like to fill at the truck stops if possible. When traveling I do keep a 2.5 in the tool box. Also a 5 of diesel.

I've used Walmart DEF many times, only recently did we get a local bulk distributor, so I have been using that....but I might go back to the Wallmart jugs however, because apparently I'm not smart enough to use the bulk pumps without making a mess.

I put in a box of peak today that I bought in Mountain Home, I'd a couple days ago. If I go a little below half on the gauge I know the 2.5 gals will go in without spillage. I am at 1240 miles since topping off with a box at home. So I am using 1 gal per 400-500 miles at 25k combine weight with a tall 5th wheel. Averaging about 10.7 MPG for diesel. Up and down mountain passes and at 7000+ feet today back down to 2000' and now back up to 3700. SNOKING

Just be careful not to contaminate your diesel with DEF/Urea. I would recommend cleaning the spout with (a lot of) really hot water.

Contamination of any kind does not seem to be covered under warranty. And if you do it yourself, you can't blame the def or diesel supplier.

I added up all my DEF used since new and came up with 505.493 MPG. That is with 24,661 on the clock and around 10K of that towing. So I am burning more DEF than you towing for sure with a few thousand of those towing miles at 75mph.

I filled up at my gas station today and ask when will they put in a DEF system, next to the diesel pump or pumps,he replied not any time soon.Look at their price and it was 2 dallors higher than WalMart for Peak. When traveling this summer around the Far western states I only came apon 2 gas stations that had DEF near the pumps.Only problem is when you are hooked up to a 40 footer 5th wheel makes it real hard to get close enough to get DEF.Go inside and again 4 dallors more than Walmart.I see the picture. When I ask at this Chevron station they said that is only for local contractors for that fill point. No room for a trailer over 10 feet as it would have block the store enterence.I am begining to smell a gimick.Down the road in the next state I ask them and they said they were told that the def tank could get contaiminated real easy, and you would face a lawsuit for repairs.Just like that other posting just put up,on a 4th gen getting contaimated.

If you're a Good Sam member, get a Pilot/Flying J charge card. With it, you can pull through the truck island at Pilot or Flying J truck stops and fuel with #2 and fill the DEF tank all at the same pump without having to go to the fuel desk and prepay. It's also much easier to navigate with the 5th wheel in tow. You also get a nice discount off of the inflated prices (6 cents per gallon below the cash price, IIRC).

Truck stops are great places to fuel and get DEF. Wife loves going inside and shops while I fuel. She gives attendant CC and states pump # and amount not to exceed. States RV use and DEF if needed. I call her with two rings and hang up to let her know I am done and to pay and come out.
