Ok 3,200 plus newbe TD 2500 4x4 crew cab owner. Only had a diesel rabbit back in the 80's only time the block heater wasn't plugged in is when I was driving. Was lucky I could plug in at work. My question is living in SE Michigan temps aren't tobad considering other prts of the country. What temperature should I install the cover to truck for the winter. I will be plugging it in when it gets cold but when Driving the truck are there ay temps that will indicate when I should start opening up the flaps?

I don't have my owner's manual right in front of me....but have you read yours? It has Ram's recommendations in it.

Did you request your owners manuals ? If this is a new truck there is a number to call & they will send you them . Or you can down load them for the newest version ( be warned it's well over 1000 pages for all the supplements) they send them ups for free in just a few days. Look for the number in your material they did give you.

cheers

Mopar instructions for winter use,are on line just use the part number for the search, also inside my kit it came with the instructions on how and when to use the cover...See your dealership as well they can download the instructions there network...

PTSideshow,I really don't pay to much attention to it.Driving at speeds of 55-70 does not effect it.Make sure all debris is off before installation. This cover will get debris under it following rock trucks ,salt trucks etc.So routine maintentence is required.Every 2 days or so removed to clean the cotton fiber with a light stiff brush around the edge's clean grille assembly and reinstall. As far as flap postion just monitor transmission temps if you see then raising open a set of flaps,if not warming up to operation temps close flaps.

I didn't get a block heater or a cover with my '14 (Texas truck originally) but with my '05 I would put the cover on when the highs were below 40 and take it off when high's were consistently back above 40..... The older trucks were much worse at warming up though than these newer one's... That '05 would never warm up at all really until you drove it and put a load on it whereas the new one's will activate the exhaust brake to load the engine to assist in warm up.

It is easy....there are slide clips that attach to the grill frame and bungee hooks for the top ...slide the hooks all the way down on the frame and strap the bungee across the radiator shroud...
