Building a shop need advice

O. k I allready plumbed out the shop for compressed air in copper. And I remember hearing that PVC is a big no no. So today I am watching Two guys garage (Poor mustang) and there waas an advert for Garage Pak. Hmmm kinda cool no?

that garage pac thing is aluminum piping with the poly [nylon???] elbows... kinda neat, but when i get a garage that i decide to pipe, i probably will end up piping it with 1/2" or 3/4" black iron... it is pretty easy to work with if you can borrow/rent a threader...

  Why is that? I have two friends that have plumbed the whole shops in PVC, my friend Rich did his 16 years ago and never had any problems. It's so easy to work with too when you want to add on to the system.

The last time we had our compressors serviced the guy told us we should think about changing over from PVC to copper as they were cracking down on that, so we did. We never had a blowout on this PVC system (used 8-10 hours a day, 5 days a week), but I did have a blowout in the garage with a PVC system rarely used. Maybe that's the key.

Someone let use kow how the price compares to copper or iron pipe.
