New to forum been reading for a while finnally joined. Here my question also did search lots of info. first off I have a 1992 4X4 with all guages required, 3. 5" exhaust 16cm turbo housing, DTT torque convertor and shift kit, K&N filter, adjusted pump. My current boost is about 25 psi at 1200 f. I want to install injectors and was thinking about the PW185 until I found out about the new prices (1107. 00 cdn). So checked into EDM they are not available for my truck now any other options, I do not want the POD's. Does anybody have any feedback on the PW 190. Also does this BHAF make a difference and where can I get one. thanks

You have a couple of options for the injectors in addition to what you mentioned. The Diamond B 300 and 370's will fit, there is also a Bosch 230 injector used in the motor homes that makes a nice power upgrade without the problems of the POD or Diamond B's. If you want to keep your factory barrels the nozzles can be upgraded and pop pressures set for the bigger injectors. Thats a little cheaper and runs $65 to $70 depending on vendor.

You can get EDM's as a custom make for your truck but they are pretty spendy as there is not a big demand. You will have to call F1 Diesel to talk about them and cost.

BHAF will help with the breathing and get it ready for more fuel. Here are some of the BHAF makes and models:

Baldwin- PA2820

Wix-42790

Hasting- AF1012

Fleetgaurd-AH19037

Carquest- 87790

Autozone/STP-LAF2531

Donaldson B105006

Donaldson ECB15006

Cummins 3912986

Cummins 3924541

Fleetguard AH19037

Fleetguard AH19004

Baldwin PA-2806 (metal housing)

Welcome to the funny farm and good luck.

A note on the aforementioned marine 370s, etc. to clarify...

Those are all injectors designed to run with a P pump, and they have larger injector lines, hence the UPPER body (or barrel) of the injector is different, namely the thread for the injector line nut. They are not a direct replacement.

The lower portion or tips are the same size as the intercooled first gens and they can be installed into the first gen uppers.

There is also a marine 270 Diamond... . the possiblities are numerous.

EDMs are too available for our rigs. Mach1s from F1 (thru RipRook) ran me $650; they were too hot for my pump and turbo combo (no IC), so they traded them for a set of stock flow, supposedly, though they still added a good deal of pep. Definitely cut smoke, though it will leave a haze if I get on it at say, 30mph in 4th gear. The Mach1s added, I'd guess, 45hp to mine- I could peg the boost gauge in 3rd gear, made 35 psi in 2nd. Came close to pegging the pyro a time or two. The ones I have now still enable me to hit 38 psi with a PDR35 and an 18 housing.

If I had an intercooler (and a few other goodies), I'd go for Mach1s, maybe even 2s, though since I tow, (or will soon enough), I might stay with the 1s. Not sure what my pump flows, but I'm sure it is more than the stock 78mm/ stroke.

I had checked with RipRook on the EDM's he said they we not doing them any more because of the low demand and the high demand of the 24 valve injectors and they were just trying to keep up with that demand. I had checked with Piers on the 190 injectors, does anyone have any feed back on them.

I don't know if you are interested but I know you can get the Bosch 185 for 299 a set. Autowurks diesel has them and so does ads I think is the other name . Just a suggestion . I'm thinking about a pair myself just don't know if they can add as much power as say a Bullydog inj. .

I talked with PDR and ordered the 190 today, see how they work, decided to go with them over the 185 that diesel auto wurks have for $299us they make about 7 more HP according to PDR
