Can those of you running pw injectors, a 16cm2 housing, some sort of exhaust, and preferably a 5 speed, give me some sort of idea what egt's you are seeing, and if you have to downshift up hills with a load to "stay cool?" Curiously yours, Alan

Alan. I am not running gauges (I know, I know. . ) but I have never had my engine temp gauge read over 3/4. I pull my two trailers with all she's got a lot of the time in 5th and mainly 4th. I've only heard from one guy who had heat problems after the injectors, and he doesn't have an intercooler.
I do plan on getting a gauge setup but honestly I've got enough trouble free miles of hard towing since the upgrade that I'm not too worried about it any more.
Seems like someone posted a max. 1050 degrees while towing after the same mods recently. Maybe he'll reply here.
I sure would recommend the 16cm as part of your total package though.

Hey Don, get the guages(but you knew that)The TST site has great install instructions, I used a banks three guage pod for egt, boost and tach. I was seeing 1000 before the injectors, with only pump time, no tweaking, and exhaust. I've got a good load to pull this weekend, and have the 18. 5 housing so the change to 16 shouldn't change egt that much, I'm just curious what others with the same setup are seeing. Water temp isn't that great of an indicator of cumbustion chamber temps, and while you may not have melted stuff yet, you may be running at higher than optimal temps in there...

I don't know if it helps any, but my truck stays at 600(pre turbo) degrees on the highway with the pw injectors and a 12cm housing. I really have to try to get it to 1000. I haven't pulled a load yet so I don't know what egt's will be like with a load. As far as the 16cm/12cm egt difference... i really didn't see one at all.
