Hey everyone.
At 12:43 AM (AM!!) 5-28-2000 I completed the installation of my PW injectors.
Result: LIKE WOW MAN!!.
The smoke was a 'little' much so I turned my diaphragm back to HALF WAY between max and stock (index mark at 3 o'clock-pointing at engine). If I punch it at low RPM I still get a decent amount of smoke but it clears as soon as the turbo winds up; and that doesn't take long either. Boost hits the 23 psi wastegate setting FAST. I can avoid the smoke by easing on the power. The problem is doing that consistently. It goes through gears really quick. Fifth gear is like third was. This truck is a blast to drive! At full load I think it's perfect, I get a gray, translucent solid stream of smoke. The full load adjustment was not nearly as high as I thought and I did not readjust it, still lotsa threads left to go in.
I checked the accuracy of the TDC timing pin and found it off about 4 degrees at the crankshaft (retarded).
I found that you can turn the engine both ways using the 22mm nut on the alterantor pulley but you have to load the tensioner at the same time to turn it in the direction of normal engine rotation.
I calculated that 1 degree equals about . 070" along the circumference of the vibration damper.
I used the straight piece of a wire clothes hanger vise-gripped to the stabilizer bar as the reference for finding true TDC.
I ran a quick 20-50 mph (900-2250 rpm) 4th gear acceleration test and got 9. 4 seconds down from 11. 0. This is after the diaphragm adjustment to lower smoke.
Will post 'official' data later. Plan on running test tonight.
