I have everythinghooked up with the exception of the positive(ignition) lead to the control box. What color is the wire from the ignition swith is for the RUN position? I have a 2003 305/555.

On my '02 I tapped into the ignition circuit in the fuse block. I think it was instrument cluster or something like that.

looking at the 2003 service manual i have and its wiring diagrams, there are many run powered sources on the ignition switch

run only

pin #03 - dark blue - feeds integrated power module - instrument cluster/door lock switch passenger lockout/rearview mirror/trip computer

pin #14 - orange - feeds integrated power module - airbag/abs

pin #08 - dark green - feeds hvac blower motor

run & acc.

pin #10 - dark blue - feeds - driver door module [power windows/mirrors]

pin #09 - black/white tracer - feeds integrated power module - cigar lighter/premium radio/seat belt tensioner/instrument cluster

the easiest one to access is the cigar lighter hot source right at the back of the cigar lighter... it is powered in run and accessory mode, but is fused on its own too. .

Use the lighter on the dash that way you are not splicing into your harness, the lighter is a heavy wire and works just fine. It also cycles with the key.

Where are you folks hitting a dimmed light source for the gauges on the 3G's???

On my '01 I hit the 12V from the keyed power outlet (as suggested) AND the lights that dimmed with the light at the ashtray... .

However, I have noticed now on my '05 that the ashtray light is no longer dimmed.

Thanks for the inputs, the cigar lighter sounds good to me. As for a dimmed power soource for the lights on guages, tap into the back of you light dimmer switch.

Open up the dash and you have to tap into the wire going to the light switch. Use a tester and the correct one will dim when you move the thumbwheel.

Just make sure you use the cigar lighter up by the ash tray and not the 12V constant power loacated below... ;)
