Well finally got my EGT guage installed. Wasnt to bad of an insall the hardest part was getting the bolts off the Turbo. Well I guess it was easy but I think I might have done something wrong. Got everything back together and went for a drive to my friends house, and on the way over there the engine light was on. So when I got there I poped the hood to see if I missed something nope everything looked fine. Hang out for a while and then when I drive to my other friends house the light never came on (hasent come on sience last night) well we get there and he has a code scanner and we hook it up and it says "low manifold presure". We tried to erase the code to see if it keep saying it after I drove around some more but his scanner keep frezzing. Any ways I took an hour drive today and all my guages read fine. pull back into town and Engine temp is up about 10* to right at 200* and transmission temp climbed to 180* (took a 3 hour trip saterday night and it never got over 165*) it was in the 80's today and the road was somewhat hilly but not to bad and I was crusing at 75 but the temp didnt stat rising tell I was driving around town. So I think I might have an leake or done something wrong when installed the probe. I put teflone tape and anit seize on it. Is it posable that I put it in to far? Anyone have any ideas? Im going to go look over everything a little closer once it cools down.

Check to see if anything is disconnected from the wastegate on the turbo or anything else (sensor?) that you had to disconnect while removing the turbo.

FWIW, you can read your codes without a scanner. Climb in the drivers seat, put the key in the ignition, turn the key from the off position to the run (where the key rests after starting), and back off... repeat this three times, and your odometer will dissappear... . Then magically, your codes will flash. One at a time until they have all been displayed. After the last one is displayed, you''ll see dONE flash and then the odo will return. You'll see the same ones and any new ones over and over until they are cleared (by disconnecting the batteries for 5 mins).

Nifty trick an '01 guy showed me.

Take Care,

Andy

my 03 did same. cleared code and no problems since. the different readings are most likely just coidence.
