I dropped my truck off with a friend to install my gauges while I was at school and didn't give him proper instructions on the pyro location.

I told him pre-turbo about 2" from the turbo flange and forgot to tell him to put it in the rear runner (volute).

He drilled and tapped it dead center in the middle of the manifold.

Pyro seems to work fine, goes up when it should go up, comes down when it should. I'm just wondering how accurate the readings are.

I've never gotten it above 1000 deg. which I'm happy about and it usually sits around 450-700 cruising depending on gear and speed.

(all numbers are unloaded, I haven't towed anything with the gauges yet)

Should I worry about the accuracy?

Thanks in advance,

The middle of that flange is metal. I don't think the readings are truly accurate, probably close though. I bet that was hard to drill!

Its not in the flange, its in the manifold about 2" away from the flange, but the manifold is divided (front 3/rear 3). Instead of drilling and tapping for the pyro in the rear runner, he did it right in the middle of the manifold. Its metal all the way through that too though, so yeah, probably not the easiest thing in the world to drill through.

Oh well, I'll be getting a new manifold soon anyways that is already tapped in the right place.

Thanks,

R. J.
