Weird thing happened lastnight. As I was slowing down to pull in the house I look over and the Pyro is jumping all over the place. So, I am like, GREAT!!! and I continue to pull into the driveway. Well, due to the LOUD mudtires on the ole` dodge, I had the raido up pretty loud, and I turned it down, and the pyro comes back to where it should be and is steady. I then turn the radio back up, and again pryo jumps around. This morning on the way to work, I notice that everythign is normal, even when I turn the radio up high.

Note:

- I do have a factory tweeter in the A-pillar

- When I installed the A-pillar I just glued it to the factory a-pillar, and I cut a big hole in the factory pillar.

-Upon installation I was careful and I soldered all connections and used Shrink Tube on all exposed wires.

Before I tear into it, what do you guys think, do you think it may have been a pyro wire laying close to a speaker wire, and its not a big deal, do you think that its a wire rubbing in two? The gauges have been installed for about 2 years, and have had NO problems with them in the 2 years.

Thanks in advance for all your help!!!!

You could be getting some electrical interference from somewhere but not sure. I run my EGT gauge in the same place, on the A-pillar, and I have a very LOUD system in my truck. Never had that issue, though, and my stock tweeter wires are right next to the boost and EGT looms.

Isspro EV gauges

My Trans Temp gauge has the same symptoms... ... almost.

The needle will bounce from 140 degrees to pegged and then every where in between. Did it once after I had it installed and I got a replacement gauge because we thought this one was bad. Then it stopped doing it and has been fine for over a year until last week. Started jumping all over the place again. Only does it when I am accelerating:confused:

i have my guages in the pillar as well on my 96, if im listening to a cd that has some bass thumps, the guage will bump w/ the bass. most notably when i have it turned up loud. i dont think it's a real big problem. just a quirk. i have autometer guages,so it's not a result of cheapo equip. i decided to live w/ this little needly bumping. my girlfriend thinks it's a bass bumping meter!

My Auto meter pyro started doing the same thing about 2 weeks ago and then just died, like there is no power going to it. I checked all of the wires and they look good and there is power all the way to the gage but it still does nothing. I have had them for about 2 years.

I put about 300 miles on it this weekend, listening to the radio the whole way, never once acted up, so I suppose it is just a quark. Or, its on its way out.

Things that make you go hummmmm??????
