What do i hook my positive wire up to? The bolt on the battery clamp appears to be too big. Also where do I hook up the ground wire. I want to do it right the first time instead of using the trial and error method. Any help would be appreciated.
Hmm depending on what pyro you have, the positive and negative leads should only be for backlighting in the dark. I hooked mine up to the headlight dimmer circuit back behind the fuse box, I forget the wire color. . hmm might be able to find it. The ground wire can go anywhere on the chassis.
Someone here might be able to give you a color-code for the wire, I`ll check later today.
Are the wires for the backlight or does your gauge use an amplifier box?
For lighting, attach the positive wire to the fuse on the side of the dash for the dash lights. The lighting will be adjusted with the dash lights. Attach the ground wire to a screw on the bottom-side of the knee bolster.
If for a box, use a switchable power source, not to the battery.
I used an Little Fuse "Add-a-Circuit" (mini-fuse, not the ATO size fuse), to "tap" the fuse for the dash lights.
I attached the positive wire into the fuse box and the ground to the screw in the knee bolster. I havent gotten on 'er yet to see how high my EGTs are. Thanks for the help.
The pos. side of light dimmer circuit is orange with a tan/brownish-white trace. I hit min in the AC contol area because mine are in the dash on the 2003
