Does it matter how deep the pyro sensor is installed in the manifold?? I have an 1/8" Dipricol EGT probe and it is non-adjustable (Hasa fixed collar instead of a movable ferule). When I eyebll the probe next to the manifold (I am installing it on the top of the #3 cylinder runner) it looks like the tip will be close to the bottom of the manifold. Should I care about this as long as it is not touching the bottom and has clearance??

I thought about using a 1/4" bushing adapter, but that spaces it out so far that only about 3/8" of the probe would be in the manifold.

Any suggestions??

It does matter. The probe should thread in about 3-1/2 to 4 turns. Here is a good right up on a pyro install:

You don't need an additional bushing as the fitting that the probe goes through should not thread in all the way (about 4-5 threads showing above the manifold if I remember correctly). If you do a search, there should be some posts that show how many threads will still be showing above the manifold.

Take your time, and read tons of posts on this if you haven't done it before.
