How much wieght are you pulling? My friend's HO would get to 1300 deg pulling just 7500lbs. Then he put a set of 65 hp injectors in it and he has to back out of it to keep it cool. What elevation are you at?

You posted a minute before me, sorry for the question that has been already answered. By the way He was pulling 7500lbs up a 6% for two miles.

It's pretty easily fixed. A boost elbow and boost fooler will take care of it, if you don't want to install a "box".

When I installed my Edge EZ (with its supplied boost elbow) along with a 4" exhaust system the same weekend, maximum pre-turbo EGT dropped from 1300 degF @ 21 PSIG boost to 1100 degF @ 30 PSIG boost. The great majority of this drop in EGT came from the increased boost. The EZ has a built-in boost fooler.

If I had it to do over and were looking for a good towing "box", I'd go with the Diesel Dynamics True Torque Power Module (TTPM) instead of the EZ. The TTPM is an EZ with DD-specific programming that doesn't have as much timing advance as the EZ - this helps when towing with the higher compression ratio of the HO. IMHO, the EZ is a little too aggressive on timing for the HO when towing, especially with bigger injectors.

Ditto RustyJC, I notice the biggest drop with my Edge Comp box off (just a boost fooler). Now for more power pulling that hill, the box on makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE!

My truck has a boost fooler, but I can't get it over 23-24psi. 90hp DD injectors. 4 inch straight back from the turbo. BHAF intake too.

I'd like to see 30 on the boost.

I can bury the pyro if I'm not careful. I saw over 1500 one time hauling a big trailer over Thompson Pass. Oops.

Stupid question, but you are running the boost elbow, right?

I can hit 30+ with my Comp on level 1x1 (pump wire disconnected) with stock injectors. Can't break 22-23 with Comp off (boost fooler only)

I have no problem getting 33LBS with my adjustable boost elbow. I managed 1250F on a long 10% grade empty at WOT all the way. No idea about stock temps though.

I saw temps like that until I put on the 4 inch exhaust AFE filter and added DD'2. Now it is hard too get to 1100. My box came with an elbow so now boost is also up to 36psi from the stock 20.
