Just finsished installing Di-Pricol gauges on my 04. 5.
The way people were talking I was going to have to consult with NASA before I could start the task. The Whole process took about 4 hours from start to finish. The most time consuming part was to fish the wires out from under the dash and hook them up. I started by jacking up the R. F. and removeing the wheel and inner fender so I could work on it from the ground instead of over the fender. My truck has a Jacobs Exaust brake and I thought I could get away with the pyro probe in the brake housing, After talking to Harry Piers at PDR he informed me that my temps would be off by as much as 500 degrees. I didn't want to do the math while I was driving so I went ahead and drilled a 7/16 hole 5/8 back of center and 2 inches up from the flange gasket. I used a brand new drill bit at low speed so I could get a nice curl to come of the bit, used the magnet out of a 2 dollar tiawan screwem-up driver and got out any remaining chips, (which wasn't much) I then ran the 1/4 npt tap in with a 1/4 drive ratchet & 9/16 12pt. socket. As for the boost fitting I got mine from PIERS DIESEL RESEARCH, I like the way it worked out, plus it got here in two days. As for the torque on the fitting bolt, I just used common sense and teflon tape! I was about the in the same boat when I changed my Oil Filter for the first time, I ate a big bowl of Wheaties and got under the truck expecting the worse and it spun right off.
