subject pretty much says it all. i installed it this week. after everyday i drive it i can get out pop the hood, and tightin the freakin thing. i have it in the manifold. is there anything i can put on it to keep it tight permently or something. i only ran the tap in like a quarter of the way so i know the hole was not tapped to big. its a 1/4 hole. thanks for the info.

gnurl around the opening. Take an awl and a small sledge. Place the awl about 1/4 inch from the hole and strike it with the sledge. Not too hard. Repeat this process all the way around the hole.

Are you referring to the part that threads directly into the exhaust manifold, or the collar that retains the thermocouple IN the collar? On mine, the retaining collar for the thermocouple needed tightening 1 1/4 turns AFTER being finger tight - hasn't loosened yet...

Did you use a 1/4 inch PIPE thread (NPT) tap - which is a tapered thread - or a plain 1/4 inch bolt-type thread? I can't imagine how a properly threaded PIPE thread assembly, properly tightened could posibly work itself loose...
