Seen some of the posts about wanting a crew cab. I gotta agree with DC's "niche" marketing on the QC. Plus, I've sat in them so far (haven't bought yet) and seem to have plenty of room. It's definitely not limo territory but then it doesn't look like a Conestoga wagon coming down the road either! I like the look of the QC's and for what it's worth my wife says she wouldn't be seen in one of those "Conestogas"! She likes the QC though. Now, I said that so I could say this---------It's been a couple of years now but I remember seeing pictures of a prototype 2gen 4dr "Ramcharger" if you will. It had been built by one of the custom shops (I guess at the request of Dodge). I think the shop was in the NW area ( Oregon or Washington I think). Although I liked the look of it and thought yeeeaaahhhh!, Dodge I guess decided not to do it for the same reason-------didn't think they'd cut into GM enough to make it worth the trouble. I dunno-----a Cummins 600 Ramcharger? Hmmmmmmmmmmm heh-heh-heh!

sign me up!

We'd have one of them in a heartbeat if Chryco ever offered one. I sure would think there is a market for a vehicle like that - look at how many bazillion suburbans there are out there.

But on the other hand, the diesel suburban from GMC died 6 or 7 years ago, and I heard that Ford pulled the plug on the whole Excursion concept. But Chrysler could pull it off and make it work.

It almost happened...

They built a concept suburban-sized vehicle in 94 or 95 when the new Ram came out. It was in all of the typical magazines (Motor Trend, etc. ) and was said to have a "green light" and was given the name Adventurer, then Chrysler figured that they wouldn't sell enough of them to make a profit, but enough to kill their truck CAFE, which was already hurting (V10 was rumored to be standard, Cummins optional). At least that's the "legend" I heard way back when...

PS - There was a follow-up story a couple years later on a conversion that a Saudi Sheik had done because "he had to have one".

i saw the same thing you guys are talking about. i think it was in truckin magazine back in 94 or somewhere around there. i should have a copy of it laying around here somewhere (my wife says i never throw anything away:D ). if i can find it i will scan a picture of it and post it. seems like if i can remember... . it was a blue or silver color. i wish they would come out with something like that. i would buy my wife one in a heartbeat!

Yeah----I remember seeing the pictures---in RED no less thinking Oh yeah! But really I guess I'm a truck person. I'm not really into the power everything foo-foo stuff. I do think DC could pull it off simply beacause of the better fuel economy of the Cummins. They would need a better auto transmission for me though. The 48re still isn't in the hunt. I'm a stick man but I've driven a co-worker DMAX/Allison CC. The transmission is very nice! I'm surprised that GM hasn't announced the Duramax 'burb yet. All the 'burb fans appear to be screaming for it!
