There was a thread about aftermarket headrests on here last week. This got me thinking, I took my daughter out to the truck and set her in the back seat. The back of her hear would hit the glass bigtime in the event of a rear end accident. In fact I have hit the fuel hard before and had her hit her head. Attached is what can happen when your rear ended.

Can anybody come up with a URL of somebody that sells aftermarket headrests?

Someone said JCwhitney but I found nothing on there site.

I could make one, but it would never look as good as a store bought one.

I agree, I would have even (choke) bought (gag) a ferd if I could have gotten the rear headrest w/o getting the leather ranch thingy option because other than that, you can't get them in any truck now.

Years ago, I used to subscribe to Four Wheeler and Four Wheel and Off Road Magazine. I remember seeing an ad in the back advertising section for a headrest that mounted via suction cups to the rear window. I did a few searches on Google and couldn't come up with anything. Maybe you could contact these magazines and see if they remember who made it.

Good luck.

QUADCAB REAR SEAT HEADREST

TOWPRO -I posted that question a few weeks ago. I wanted to believe at least 1 state in 50 had a concern for the health and safety of the rear (truck seat) passengers heads. OH SILLY ME !?! Anything that increases the $$ GROSS NATIONAL

PRODUCT $$ (including the money generated from the injury of someone in the rear seat of our trucks) surpasses any obvious safety concern. I expect trucks circumnavigate many safety issues in other areas too. Maybe that's why they are so $ PROFITABLE $ to make... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... .

If we're realistic about this concern, the rear seat is not exactly the place you would want to ride on a real long trip. This obvious oversight has no concern to the lobbying efforts that have allowed a disregard for safety to be an acceptable truck feature. However, without a headrest, a simple trip across town, or an unforeseen accident could result in a serious head injury to anyone riding in the back.

I'm still looking for a rearseat headrests too. A minor loss of rear visibilty caused by a headrest would be totally acceptable to me. :D :D :D :D :D Jim

Re: QUADCAB REAR SEAT HEADREST

I have had at least 5 truck owners in the last 3 days tell me "yes, I have seen them in the store" but nobody can remember what store. All the stores I call have never seen such a thing as "add on headrests for a pickup"

I already know how I could make one, but it takes time (which I am low on right now). Sure wish I could find one in a store.

The problem might be that nobody makes them because of the liability issue.
