My rear window is supposed to open right and left when the plastic snap lock is opened. My windows will not move. I'm reluctant to use brute force unless that is all I can do.
My daughter likes to open it up and stick her hands out the window (and I don't mind hearing the exhaust better). Mine slides either way just fine. Maybe try gently working a screwdriver in between the two windows to get it to move. It's probably just stuck from lack of use.
My 99 is the same way. About once a year I try and open it, find its stuck, and decide to leave it. It doesn't leak so I don't mess with it. I figure if I fiddle with it to much, I'll probably break it.
my '99 was like that, I just gently pried it open, I think I used a screwdriver or knife or something. My 2002 opens easy so far, although I never use the thing... back seat passengers do though, and I think they go out of their way to put as many fingerprints/handprints as possible on it while opening it . Anyway, just try prying it gently, then maybe clean off the area where the 2 panes touch, and get all the sticky stuff off
Yeah, that's the one downside to my daughter fiddling with it. She seems to always go for it right after I wash and detail the truck. Nice clean windows - down the drain. And you see the prints every time you look in the mirror. Oh the curse of being anal.
