What year did the suicide door start on quad cabs?

1998 was the start of the quad cab with the suicide door and the end of the 12-valve.

98 model year it was optional. Some were still just extended cabs, some had opening doors. 98's built before 1/1/98 got the 12-valve, trucks made after 1/1/98 got the 24-valve.
