I just purchased a new Quadzilla xzt off ebay last night. I was getting concerned about the fuel pressure while running my EZ on anything but level 2 so figured this was a better box for what I use my truck for and the HP I am looking for. After doing some searches tonight I read that the XZT box is mostly a pressure box. Is this correct? The website states it does all three. Anyway, since I have to wait several days for the box to get here, what can I expect in terms of drivability and power compared to the EZ on level 2? And was this a wise choice as far as fuel pressure goes?

I've had the Quad 100hp and 140hp box. Both worked great, and I ran around in 60hp mode almost all the time. It works really well. I'm sure the XZT is just as good, if not a little stronger than the regular boxes on the 60hp setting. DLeno (TDR writer) figures that about 30hp comes from timing, the rest from pressure.

Check to see if there's dielectric grease on the plugs. If not, you'd be wise to add a little to insure a good connection for the wiring harness.

As far as the tone ring mod goes, I suggest searching for your answer on DTR. It seems the Quad box discussions are much more popular with DTR members than here.

Thanks. Good information. I had hoped it wouldn't be too much pressure. 35 hp from pressure is much better than 50-65. I'll leave the tone ring as it is. I just sold my EZ and can't hardly wait to try this one out. Should be here Saturday, or Tuesday.

The tone ring or sensor is a nice, quick postive mod. I would not NOT do it. Not often on these late models you get something so easy or inexspensve that come by you. Did mine and my neighbors 05. BOTH trucks showed improvments as described.
